Urrutia, more than a champion an inspiration....

María Isabel Urrutia Ocoró (born 25 March 1965) with lack of money in a poor neighborhood with other four brothers and sisters. She was a former weightlifter, athlete and politician from Colombia. She won a gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics, so I can say or prove that: Despite having no money, you can be a famous athlete. Urrutia was the first gold medal in Olympic history for our country that's why I consider her as an important athlete for Colombia; furthermore, After retiring from the sport, she was elected to the House of Representatives for the constituency of the Afro-Colombian people in 2002; consequently, Mary not only contributes in sports but also our nation political field, so I decided that is one of the most important person in Colombia.

In the first instance I like the way she despite not having money managed to be a success women, to help her family and others. their discipline by giving up a sports and eventually winning a gold medal is amazing, when analyzing this I realize that I can apply in my life to get to play professional football, and in spite of having more and more money to improve my economic situation not only mine but in the future of my family.

In the other hand, Maria Isabel through her hard work as a sportsman also did as a representative of the Afro-Colombians in the House of Representatives, one of her actions was the penal code against DISCRIMINATION. This law penalizes those acts of discrimination, segregation and persecution, or incitement thereto, based on race, colour, descent or national, ethnic or cultural where people can find on which rests the legal right it is not protected...these actions against minorities like Maria Isabel I do not like it and generated in me the desire to fight for their rights and make it to become my draft measure just as she did, this action by Maria was the one I liked the most and which I learn more.

To complete another thing I admire and I learned from Maria Isabel Urrutia is  her determination and clear goals. Through out her career as a weightlifter she won 24 medals, including Llas are: Gold flag 1990 Sarajevo 82.5 kg, Gold flag 1994 Istanbul 83 Kg, Silver Flag of Greece Athens 1989 82.5 Kg, Silver Flag of Germany Donaueschingen 1991 82.5 Kg, Silver Flag 1995 Guangzhou PRC 83 Kg Silver Flag of Thailand Chiang Mai 83 1997 Kg, Bronze Flag of Poland Warsaw 1996 83 Kg, Bronze Flag of Finland Lahti 1998 among others.
Also would like to have this winning mentality to play football.

In conclusion, Maria Isabel is a very important athlete and person for Colombia on the circumstances already explain, also as I already say, the way she managed to be a successful women in our society and who I learn lot of things which I can applied to my entire life.
