The man behind the best environmental construction ever

Simon Velez is Colombian, born specifically in Manizales in 1949. Simon's family was also related to the architecture, for example his grandfather Roberto Velez, builder and founder of Versailles and Velez neighborhoods, his father Roberto Velez Saenz architect who directed Simon since little. His childhood took place on farms in “La Dorada” (Caldas), Valle del Cauca and the north coast. In fourth grade he was kicked out of school due to his rebelliousness, but with some help he managed to return to his school to end up his studies.  He went to study at the University of “los Andes”, he was the best in design and a great artist; but the institution did not want him to graduate because he did not wanted to take two subjects, just for the reason that he considered them as irrelevant. Years later University called him to finally graduate in 1980.
